Nodding wild onion

CA$3.00

Allium cernuum

Anishinaabemowin name: bagwaji zhigaangananzh

A wonderful way to add oniony flavour to your cooking with the leaves of this native plant. Easy growing for small spaces and containers.

The word for skunk, zhigaag, is part of this plant’s Ojibwe name, due to its strong scent.

Called ‘nodding’ because flowers dangle from a delicately curved stem. The budding stems are swanlike.
