Scutellaria lateriflora
Stalks of pale purple delicate flowers. One of the few Mint family plants that is not aromatic. Medicinally it is a soothing nervine that can help with stress and insomnia and is restorative of the nervous system.
In the garden it needs little maintenance. In containers it can get overcrowded, so harvest or dig out some plants partway through the season.
Not to be confused with Baikal Skullcap (Scutellaria baicalensis), an East Asian herb.
