Native tobacco
The native variety of tobacco used for prayer and ceremony and as an offering to the land and to the ancestors.
For multiple harvests, cut the leaves and flowers from the top before they start to bloom. Hang to dry for one year to cure fully.
Note, European tobacco (Nicotiana virginiana) was derived from this species and is cultivated commercially. Native tobacco is a shorter plant with smaller leaves and has beautiful yellow bell-shaped flowers.
